1. Overview
Volcanic Forests ("the App") is an educational iOS application published by Austin Murphy and distributed through the Apple App Store. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and your rights under applicable law including Apple's App Store Review Guidelines. By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal data. The App does not require registration, Sign in with Apple, login or an email address to function.
The following data is stored locally on your iPhone only using Apple's UserDefaults:
- Onboarding completion status
- Selected interests (personalisation preferences)
- Bookmarked species
- Visited regions and activity completion progress
- Best quiz score
This data never leaves your device, is not synced to iCloud by the App, and is not transmitted to any server operated by us.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Name, email, phone number or address
- Location or GPS data
- Contacts, photos, microphone or camera access
- Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or App Tracking Transparency data
- Advertising identifiers or third-party analytics tracking
- Payment or financial information (the App has no in-app purchases)
- Health, financial or sensitive category data
4. Third-Party Services
Volcanic Forests does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, social media SDKs, crash-reporting services or cloud backends. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track users across apps or websites.
Apple may collect standard download, device and transaction metadata through the App Store as part of its platform services โ please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on that.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages and is designed as a family-friendly educational experience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App does not contain behavioural advertising, external links to social networks, or user-generated content. 6. Data Retention & Deletion
All app data is stored locally on your iPhone. You can delete it at any time by removing the App from your device (long-press the icon โ Remove App โ Delete App). Deleting the App permanently removes all locally stored preferences and progress. No copies are retained on our servers.
7. Security
Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no remote database to breach. We recommend keeping your iPhone and iOS software up to date for general security, and using a device passcode or Face ID / Touch ID.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Because we do not collect or process personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct or delete on our systems. Any data stored by the App exists only on your device and is under your full control. For questions about your rights, contact us at the email below.
